5 — Entrance Gates and Doors, and Keys

Outside view of the main entrance gate (gate 1), with two entrance doors left and right (top),
inside view of the secondary entrance gate (gate 2) with an integrated entrance door (bottom)
  1. On the side facing the public village road, Baan Sammi has 2 entrance gates (main and secondary gate), both wide enough that cars can pass, and 3 entrance doors.
  2. The 2 entrance gates can be opened and closed from the inside (property side) only, and be locked with an iron hook or iron bolt from the inside only. The entrance gates have to be locked (not leaned on) throughout the day and night.
  3. The 3 entrance doors can be opened, closed, and locked from both sides
  4. One of 3 entrance doors,
    with 2 independent door locks
    (upper and lower lock)
  5. Each entrance door has 2 independent door locks. The upper door lock has a turnable doorknob, no key, and can be locked from the inside only. The lower door lock has to be used with a key but is without a doorknob, and can be locked from both inside and outside.
  6. There are different keys for each entrance door, and these keys have a black tag.
  7. The entrance door of the secondary gate between Tai Saeng Chan Pavilion and Plumeria Bungalow has to be locked with the key throughout the day and night.
  8. The northern entrance door (left door in the photo) of the main gate between Plumeria Bungalow and Clerodendrum Chalet West has to be locked with the key throughout the day and night.
  9. The southern entrance door (right door in the photo) of the main gate between Plumeria Bungalow and Clerodendrum Chalet West has to be locked with the key of the lower door lock throughout the night and should be locked with the upper door lock (without key) during the daytime.
  10. All the necessary keys will be handed over to the tenant or guest upon arrival, and have to be returned on the last day of stay.
  11. There are usually one to several door keys per house.
  12. All houses have the option to lock the main door with a padlock. On request, we can supply a padlock.
  13. For safety and emergency case, we deposit a duplicate key for all locks.
  14. A tenant or guest can use their own padlock and should turn over to us a duplicate of the key. In an emergency or if the key is lost, we must break open the lock, the door, or a mosquito screen in order to enter, if we have not received a duplicate of the key, and all costs for this action must be covered by the tenant/guest.
  15. Peculiarities of the entrance door of the secondary gate between Tai Saeng Chan Pavilion and Plumeria Bungalow: This door is an integrated part of the gate, which means the door is framed by an iron bar on its bottom. Be cautious when passing the door: You need to take a step over the iron bar.
  16. It might be difficult for a guest to get used to locking and unlocking the door locks. Therefore, we offer to show the guest how this works when handing over the keys, or before the guest wants to leave the property for the first time to explore the vicinity. Please, do not hesitate to contact us to enable us to show you how the locking works, in order to avoid difficulties in re-entering or to avoid damaging the lock.
