- Baan Sammi has two entrance gates on the side of the property that faces the public village road.
● The main entrance gate (Gate 1) has two wings and two doors on each side of the gate. The gate is set back so that a car can park in front of it.
● The secondary entrance gate (Gate 2) has two wings. The door is part of one wing, and the gate is not set back.
Both gates are wide enough for cars to pass. - Both entrance gates can be opened and closed only from the inside (property side), and can be locked with an iron hook or iron bolt from the inside only.
- The 3 entrance doors can be opened, closed, and locked from both sides.
- Each entrance door has 2 independent door locks. The upper door lock has a turnable doorknob, no key, and can be locked from the inside only. The lower door lock has to be used with a key but is without a doorknob, and can be locked from both inside and outside.
- There are different keys for each entrance door, and these keys have a black tag.
- Rules for locking or leaving unlocked the entrance gates and their doors:
● As a general rule, entrance gates and their doors should be kept locked at all times.
● If visitors, workers, gardeners, or suppliers are expected, the main gate may be unlocked or opened from 8 a.m. and closed again between 5 and 6 p.m. Similarly, the door (the door on the right when viewed from the outside, leading to house number 79) may be unlocked.
● The same applies to the secondary gate; however, the gate and door should only be left unlocked or open for a short time when necessary.
● Gates and doors must remain locked from dusk through the night until dawn.
● If tenants pass through a gate or door on foot or by vehicle, whether during the day or at night, and the gate or door was previously locked, they must lock it again.
● If tenants pass through the main gate or the door (the door on the right when viewed from the outside, leading to house number 79) during the day, and if the gate or door was previously unlocked or open, they should remain unlocked or open.
● The door on the left at the main gate (on the left when viewed from the outside, leading to house number 79/1) is for the exclusive use of Plumeria Home tenants and must always be kept locked. The opposite door, however, may be used by all tenants. - All the necessary keys will be handed over to the tenant or guest upon arrival, and have to be returned on the last day of stay.
- There are usually one or several door keys per house.
- All houses have the option to lock the main door with a padlock. On request, we can supply a padlock.
- For safety and emergency cases, we deposit a duplicate key for all locks.
- A tenant or guest can use their own padlock and should turn over to us a duplicate of the key. In an emergency or if the key is lost, we must break open the lock, the door, or a mosquito screen in order to enter, if we have not received a duplicate of the key, and all costs for this action must be covered by the tenant/guest.
- Peculiarities of the entrance door of the secondary gate (between Carport 1 and Plumeria Bungalow): This door is an integrated part of the gate wing, which means the door is framed by an iron bar on its bottom. Be cautious when passing the door: You need to take a step over the iron bar.
- It might be difficult for a guest to get used to locking and unlocking the door locks. So, we can show them how it works when we hand them over the keys, or before they want to leave the property for the first time, to look around. Please contact us if you need help with the locks, so you can get in and out easily and avoid damaging the lock.
