- If there is no need for lighting, running a fan, or an air-conditioner, especially when you stay absent from your house, please, switch off unnecessary electric devices.
- If you encounter troubles in finding the right switches in your home, we would like to show you what switches are available and where they are located. Some peculiarities are described briefly below.
- Plumeria Bungalow:
• Inside the living room next to the front door, left-hand side, there are 3 combined lighting switches. The left two switches are for exterior motion-sensor lighting. Keep these two switches permanently on, otherwise, you will miss lighting outside of the front door during the dark.
• Inside the living room next to the terrace door, right-hand side, there are 2 upper lighting switches. These connect to the 2 exterior lanterns on the terrace, to be switched on and off manually.
• From the corridor, you can enter the tiny laundry room. There is one lighting switch and one switch for the extractor hood. There is a further upper switch, which is for lighting the attic (accessible from the laundry room).
• The separate WC, also to enter from the corridor, has two switches on the wall, one for lighting, the other for the extractor hood.
• The en-suite bathroom has 3 switches, the first for lighting, the second for the extractor hood, and the third for decent external lighting which you can see through the glass blocks. - Khilek Pavilion:
• The sitting area under the Khilek Pavilion has 4 lamps on the ceiling, which can be switched on and off by two two-way switches; one switch is on a middle wooden pillar, and the other switch is in the bedroom of Khilek Pavilion.
• Five exterior lamps on the wall of the Pavilion are for motion-sensor lighting containing 3 motion-sensors, all without manual switches. This type of motion sensor turned out to be difficult to adjust. An improvement is being planned but could not yet be done on the date of publishing this post. People, when walking on the terraced area around this Pavilion, are requested to use a flashlight during darkness. - Tai Saeng Chan Pavilion:
There are 4 combined lighting switches in the room on the ground floor (living and dining room with integrated kitchen), one of these is marked by a dot. This switch is for exterior motion-sensor lighting of the garden lantern opposite the laundry hut. Keep this switch permanently on, otherwise, you will miss lighting on the pathway during the dark. - Lychee Lodge:
The lighting switch for the living and dining room is on the pillar in this room; the switch for the bedroom is next to the door in this room; the lighting switches for the bathroom and the kitchen are next to the bathroom door on the side of the kitchen. - In each house, there are several ventilators. These can be table fans, floor fans, wall fans, ceiling fans, and extractor hoods.
- There is an additional cooling fan in the Clerodendrum Chalets. If you are not familiar with this type of fan, please read the user manual.
Outdoor unit of a split-type air conditioner - Air conditioning is available in the bedrooms of Clerodendrum Chalet West, Plumeria Bungalow, Dillenia Bungalow, and Lychee Lodge.
- Regular air conditioning maintenance is needed once or twice a year, usually in February and August. There is a service agreement with an air conditioning company in the San Kamphaeng District which has proven to be reliable and does a good job.
- All air conditioners are to be cleaned on a single day between 9 a.m. and noon, or 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. It takes about one hour to clean an air conditioner. The service company sets an appointment at short notice. As early as the date is known, tenants will be informed of the date. The tenants are asked to be present when the service is executed and to give the company access to the air conditioning system of both units, the indoor unit, and the outdoor unit. Usually, 3–4 technicians will come with all their equipment including a low ladder.
- The technicians will inspect and clean the indoor unit of the air conditioner as well as the outdoor unit. The indoor unit is located in the bedrooms of all four houses. To gain access to the indoor unit, the technicians move the furniture (usually the bed frame) in front of the indoor unit to place their ladder to reach the unit.
- However, the outdoor unit is located in the attic of the two houses, Plumeria Bungalow and Dillenia Bungalow. Access to the attic is as follows:
• Plumeria Bungalow:
Access is from the tiny laundry room. In the laundry room, there are several individual removable wooden stair steps present, which are needed to get upstairs into the attic. These stair steps can otherwise be used by the tenant as shelves. Please put the stair steps in the right places and temporarily remove any items placed on the steps. Also, please place the small ladder (stored in the pump and water tank hut attached to the Plumeria Bungalow) in front of the wooden stair steps with the laundry room door open. The attic light switch is the top one in the laundry room on the right wall. When the cleaning of the outdoor unit is finished, please check that the loft door on the ceiling is closed and the light is switched off.
• Dillenia Bungalow:
Access is from the bathroom. The attic door is on the ceiling next to the sink. For the technician to get to the attic, you need to place Baan Sammi's 7-step aluminum ladder under the attic door (the ladder the technician brought is not high enough). We will place our 7-step aluminum ladder outside the bungalow on the wooden deck in front of the Dillenia front door some hours before the technicians arrive. The tenant or the technicians can then move this ladder into the bathroom. The attic light switch is the top one inside the bathroom, on the wall to the right of the bathroom door. When the cleaning of the outdoor unit is finished, please check that the loft door on the ceiling is closed and the light is switched off. - User manuals for the air conditioners are available online to download: For Plumeria Bungalow and Dillenia Bungalow: MSZ-A09YV; for Lychee Lodge: MSY=XT09VF; and Clerodendrum Chalet West: MSZ-A09YV.
