22 — Washing Machines, Laundry Rods

   General information about the laundry facilities: Washing machines are present in all houses, for details see the House Descriptions (links → Chapters 1.1.1–1.1.4 of the main website of Baan Sammi). Other laundry facilities are described in Chapter 8.19 – 8.20 of → Details on Rental Terms. 
2. There are 5 LG and Samsung washing machines in total. They are top-loaders with different load capacities and have no water temperature control. 
3. Basic instructions for using any of the existing washing machines:
   • Load the tub with your clothes, towels, etc.
   • Pour detergent into the detergent dispenser, and close the dispenser.
   • Pour softener into the softener dispenser, and close the dispenser.
   • Close the lid of the tub.
   • Press the power button.
   • Select the program (any except the program "tub clean").
   • Press the start button.
   • Then the program runs and the display shows the minutes until the washing process is finished.
   • After washing, clean the filter of lint (if the filter can be removed, use a brush with a bucket of water for cleaning).
   • Preferably keep the lid open to prevent fungal attack.
4. If you are not sure how to use the washing machine correctly, please, let us know and we will instruct you. The most common mistakes that have been made in the past were as follows:
   • Incorrect opening of the lid, which has damaged the hinge.
   • Filling the wrong dispenser with softener or detergent.
   • Filling the lint filter (which is a sack in some machines) with detergent.
   • Overloading the machine, causing damage to the motor.
   • Not cleaning the lint filter, caused lint to all over the washed clothes.
   • Leaving the washed clothes in the tub too long, e.g., overnight, resulted in unwanted bacterial activity and musty clothes.
   
   

   

   Outdoor laundry rods, can be used by any tenant

   
   
5. Outdoor laundry rods (35 m = 115 ft long) consisting of bamboo poles are located on the right side of the driveway, halfway from the main entrance gate. These laundry rots can be used by any tenant. Private outdoor laundry rods consisting of bamboo poles are at the Khilek Pavilion, Chom Doi Pavilion, and the Clerodendrum Chalets. A foldable laundry rack may be provided.
