8 — Bedding, Towels

Fleece blankets

1. Bedding and towels are available free of charge for short-term rent (less than 3 months). For long-term rent (3 months and longer), however, they are available free of charge during the first month of the tenant's stay, and available at cost price thereafter, or the tenant may use his/her own sets. 
2. The Bedding (for each bed) comprises 1 bed sheet (bottom bed sheet), 1 pillow with 1 pillowcase, and 1 or more blankets. 
3. Blanket (Bettdecke): Provided are 1–2 fleece blankets (Vlies-Bettdecken oder Wolldecken), which are soft thin blankets, sized 160 × 180 cm = 63 × 71 in, or 178 × 229 cm = 70 × 90 in, and/or 1 comforter (Steppdecke), which are blankets with an inside layer of soft thin fleece, usually in a somewhat larger size than a fleece blanket, and can be used with or without a cover. 
4. We do not provide duvets or quilts. A duvet, also called a down comforter (Daunen-Bettdecke), usually with a cover (Überzug), is a very thick but light comforter. A quilt (schwere Steppdecke oder Patchwork-Bettdecke) is a moderately thick though heavy comforter. Duvets and quilts are popular in Europe but not common or locally even unknown in South-East Asia. 
5. One comforter or two fleece blankets are comfortable to tuck and keep you warm in bed during most nights of the cool season, and only during a few nights you may use all three blankets together. 
6. The blankets can be covered (e.g., with a top bed sheet), or can remain uncovered. They are easily washable in a washing machine e.g., 1 comforter in a washing machine due for a load of 6–8.5 kg. 
7. Towels (for each person) comprise 2 bath towels (66 × 132 cm = 26 × 52 in), and 2 hand towels (36 × 76 cm = 14 × 30 in). Larger towels if required can be provided at cost price. 
8. If you plan to stay on long-term rent, you can be assured that we provide the aforementioned items for up to the first month of your stay free of charge, which means the bed is ready to use from your first night onward. Towards the end of the first month, you may use your own bedding. You can bring along all these items from your home country, or, you can buy these in any department store in Chiang Mai, or, you can receive them at cost price from Baan Sammi. On request, a first new pillow will be provided free of charge. 
9. Please note that both in the case of short-term and long-term rentals, the implementation and frequency of bed linen and towel cleaning and their change, as well as room cleaning, are part of the tenant's area of responsibility. Arranging an external service just for this task might prove to be difficult.
